Uploading a Signature Into NICEIC ONLINE

In this guide we will go through the basics of adding any signature to your account. Each account has to have a signature to sign the relevant fields within a Certificate a Qualified Supervisor or Designer for example, hence why it's important to get a signature put onto your account. Firstly you'll need to login and go to the Account tab at the top of the page (next to where you'd normally notify or create certificates)

The first thing you'll now see is the Signature tab. If you scroll down the page you can see there are two further tabs here. One titled "Sign onscreen" and the other "Upload scanned signature". There are currently two ways to add a digital signature to any account, the first method involves signing the Certificate onscreen which can be quite fun. If you look at the image below you’ll see the black line, if you click and drag with your mouse, trackpad or finger above this line a black line will follow. If you make a mistake, don’t worry all you have to do is click the “Clear Signature Box” button and you can start again. When you’ve done click the green “Update Signature” button.

You can also upload a signature you’ve scanned or taken with your phone. Firstly click the “Upload scanned signature” tab just next to the “Sign onscreen” tab. Now select the file using the “Select File” button within that tab. The best file types to use are PNG, GIF or JPEG. However, if you’re not sure how to do this we have created another article to help you with this. We also have a “Enhance Signature” button which may improve images which have darker backgrounds or faint pen lines however this feature is still in beta so may not work as expected.

Each account you create will have its own signature however we are developing a method to select multiple signatures from a drop down, similar to what you may be used to. If you check our Updates section you will be able to see the upcoming improvements we are making to the website and how long we expect them to take.

There is no link to the video on this page as referred to in the last paragraph.  Nor is there any way to access the article referred to in the there paragraph to help uploading a signature. Very unhelpful.

Two of us have now tried independently to upload a scanned signature and it just does not seem to work, in rather PNG or JPEG format
